Overlooking Temple Mount, Jerusalem
Key Stats:
- 5 days, 19 Haas Trekers: 8 EMBA's, 6 EW's, 5 S.O.'s
- 8 Companies Visited: 3 Startups, 3 Public Co., 2 VC's
- Innovation Session with IDC University's MBA Program
- Misc: Masada, Dead Sea, Old City Jerusalem, Yad Vashem
Fearless Leaders & Organizers,
who spent ~20 hrs/week for months:
EMBA Youli Ashkelony
EMBA Masha Barak
And to Harold Allen, EMBA Assocation President, for the EWMBAA & EMBA collaboration
that enabled EW's to come on this trip!
So what companies did we visit?
But startup and company visits were just 1 of 3 aspects of the trip: The Innovation Session with MBA Students from IDC's Arison School of Business put Haas MBA's in a PFPS/AI-style three hour session.
In mixed IDC/Haas groups, we were asked to:
- Pick an item, and remove a critcial component (i.e., Microwave, remove the buttons)
- Select and (unknowingly) lose a key member to the judges' group
- Innovate on the remaining elements of the product, or pivot
- Present a 2-minute product pitch, and have all members present
- Judges' group then selected a winner!
- Israel Defense Force service
- Master Degrees in BioTech Engineering, Law, etc
- Startups to CEO's of food packaging equipment importers.
