EWMBA ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER: August 10, 2017
OneHello - Welcome back… and Welcome Class of 2020!
We hope everyone has gotten through their summer Netflix binge lists, because IT’S BACK-TO-SCHOOL TIME! It’s been a busy summer for the OneHaas EWMBAA Team, though. Read on to learn about all of the great events that our spectacular VPs executed over the summer or are currently planning!
And, as we all know, back-to-school also means…it’s time to welcome a whole new gang of Haasies. Please say a big HELLO! to the Class of 2020!
From July 28-30, our newest classmates went through the marathon weekend that is WeLaunch. As always, it was an amazing three days where the new first years were able to bond with each other, as well as meet a large array of current student volunteers.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet the new class and launch them into their MBA journey. The C/O 2020 is an incredibly talented and warm group of individuals, and we know they will fit right in with our Haas family.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our VPs of Orientation and Incoming Student Experience, Subhro Battacharya, Peter Wang, and Vic Sandhu (all C/O 2019).
Additionally, we would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of the second- and third-year students that volunteered their time for the array of activities over the course of the weekend. From Q&A panels, to campus tours, to hotel check-in and parking pass distribution, to dancing the night away at Pappy’s, we are so grateful for your time and energy in sharing the Haas spirit with our new colleagues!
Careers Days Hosted by CMG – Thank You to Organizers and Attendees!
In June, our VPs of Career Management helped to plan and execute a series of Career Days that focused on Finance, Product Management, and Management Consulting. The panels included Haas alumni, current students, and CMG Relationship Managers.
THANK YOU to everyone who was able to make it to one of the sessions! We hope you found them informative. An additional THANK YOU to Rohan Balwani and Chris Hsien (C/O 2019), our fantastic VPs of Careers, for helping to organize!

Even if you could not make the Career Days, CMG offers a wide array of services all year long to help students map out their career paths, prepare for interviews, learn about other industries, and much more. Check out the CareerNet site, or connect with Rohan or Chris to learn more about their offerings.

EWMBA Women’s Barbeque – Congratulations Kat Clark, C/O 2020!
Their MBA journey had not even officially launched, and already the C/O 2020 was going beyond themselves to host events and foster new relationships. The weekend before WeLaunch, Kat Clark hosted a backyard party in Half Moon Bay for the women of the EWMBA program. The students pooled their resources to host a potluck and learn about each other's careers, hobbies, and goals for the program. As one attendee noted, "Women comprise 31% of our incoming class. 20% of board seats in Fortune 500 companies are held by women. We're closing the gap!"
Thank you so much, Kat, for organizing a wonderful event to build an even stronger Haas community!
