EWMBA ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER: JANUARY 21, 2017
OneHello
Hello again from the OneHaas team!
We’ve been around campus, introduced ourselves, spoke to some of you and heard some great ideas. Although we are just getting started, we are already impressed with the interest you have demonstrated in becoming more involved with the student association.
We are also glad to see some great student lead initiatives (shout out to Melanie Davidson, Axe 2019, and for organizing a Women's March movement on Campus today at 1:35pm)
As promised, below is an update on what we've been up to and, more importantly, what YOU have been up to.
Do you have exciting projects or events to share with the EWMBA student body? Email us at ewmbaa-haas@berkeley.edu and we’ll try to get it into an upcoming newsletter! If you have photos from events, send those along too!
C/O 2018 - CONGRATULATIONS ON COMPLETING MPAR - And having lots of fun in the process!
What happens when you get 250 Haasies together at a beautiful resort in Napa, give them plenty of room for creativity and some wine?
Not to give away too many details but the weekend included a trip to 2027, a live performance from Dean Lyons, extremely creative (and hilarious) videos, a torch passing ceremony (we will miss you Courtney! Welcome Jamie Breen!) and an unforgettable 80’s party - Check out some pictures below!
Thank you Program Office for all of your hard work!
OneHaas Pizza Party
Thank you to all who attended the OneHaas Pizza Party on Tuesday, January 17th. We really enjoyed welcoming everyone back for the new semester, hearing your suggestions, answering your questions, and devouring 36 XL pizzas as a group!
We hope to see everyone after Saturday classes today at Tap Haus, where we will have some pitchers and appetizers waiting for you!
GET INVOLVED IN THE EWMBAA! Application dealine is Thursday, 01/26!
As you can imagine, advocating on behalf of 750 students is no easy task, which is why we rely heavily on this institute’s number one asset: YOU, the students. The more students engaged in shaping this program, the more we can accomplish as a team.
With that in mind, we will be bolstering the EWMBAA leadership team by appointing passionate and engaged VPs for several committees. This is a great chance to get involved in shaping the EWMBA experience, to meet and network with students from across Haas, and to strengthen your own leadership portfolio.
To kick off the VP leadership experience, we will welcome the appointed VPs with a leadership training session, as well a networking happy hour, both in February. Appointed VPs will also be invited to a dinner with Dean Lyons and the leadership teams from the FT and EMBA programs.
Committees touch every aspect of student life, from Social to Academics, Orientation to Diversity, and everything in between. If you are a first or second year student and are interested in becoming a VP, please fill out the VP application here.
If you’d like to learn more about any of the VP positions before filling out the application, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the OneHaas team members.
Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Thursday, January 26. Members of OneHaas will then be speaking with individual candidates about their interests and goals for the coming year.
We look forward to hearing from you!
