Who We Are

The Haas Healthcare Association (HHA) is a student-run organization of MBA candidates and other UC Berkeley graduates focusing on the business of healthcare.

HHA aims to be the healthcare hub at UC Berkeley, helping students strengthen their depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in the industry.  HHA helps students advance their careers in healthcare by providing education on a wide range of healthcare topics and fostering lifelong connections between their peers and industry professionals.

What We Do

HHA provides a range of programing to help members meet their educational and professional goals in healthcare.

Our marquee event, the HAAS BUSINESS of HEALTH CARE CONFERENCE, brings together more than 300 students, working professionals, and other experts in San Francisco.  The student-led conference continues to define what's at the forefront of healthcare challenges and includes high profile speakers, diverse panels, and networking opportunities.

Other events include:

  • Annual Healthcare Firm Night (more information below)
  • Bay Area company treks and on-campus presentations
  • "Lunch & Learns" and small-group dinners with industry professionals
  • Hacking Health: UC Berkeley's hackathon focused on digital health
  • Opportunities to connect with alumni and entrepreneurs in the Bay Area
  • Happy hours and casual dinners for meeting other current students

With HHA members interested in a variety of healthcare professions, our summer internships (2013) show our breadth of interest across the globe.  This year's internships provided a range of experiences including: large traditional healthcare services companies, consulting, bio/pharma finance and marketing, start-up health tech companies, international development organizations, and even hospital administration in Pakistan.

While most internships were heavily concentrated in the SF bay area, many opportunities exist worldwide for our HHA members.
