Days at Haas is approaching this weekend, so it's the perfect time to add another post! This week we'll focus on the unique Haas culture as it relates to technology.
As a result of the location next to the valley and the resulting network, a good culture around technology that naturally follows. One of the biggest conferences at Berkeley-Haas each year is the >Play conference: http://www.playconference.org/, facilitated by our friends in the Digital Media and Entertainment club. This conference brings together speakers, companies and participants from across the bay interested in the Digital Media/ Entertainment space. Many students, alumni, and tech executives participate in this yearly event and it continues to grow and flourish. As someone interested in tech, you really get an opportunity to surround yourself with a large number of people who share similar interests – look at the huge membership in the Tech and Digital Media clubs - that ends up paying dividends over the long run. Classmates love to pass on tickets to tech conferences, start-up networking opportunities, plan round tables with VC's in the Bay, or just talk about the latest technology. You get the full tech experience by virtue of your kick-ass classmates.
