Data Science is a practical space with constantly evolving needs and techniques. We are inviting a series of speakers from the technology industry to demystify this evolution. They will share real-life projects and experience with us, showcasing how to fill the gap between data and business needs.

Speaker #1:

Brian Smith (Head of Financial & Strategic Analytics at Intuit) has over a dozen years experience across industries leading teams to leverage data for decisions at scale – from Obama’s campaign for president to heading financial & strategic analytics and data science for Intuit’s Small Business Group.

Brian is a self-described Data Heretic, is passionate about bringing science to business decision-making, and takes the view that Strategy, Finance, Analytics, and Data Science fill the same role – how do you take data, turn it into information, and turn that information into smart decisions.

And he writes some of the ugliest code ever to inexplicably still function.
