Would you like the opportunity to interact with five of the most prominent investors in the Bay Area? Want to hear war stories on best and worst investments over decades-long careers? Could you use some advice and perspective on getting into the asset management industry? Also interested in the intersection of finance and entrepreneurship and maybe even thinking of starting up an investment firm someday?

The format will be a panel discussion, moderated by Jon Stenzler of Wolfe Research, a premier equity research boutique.

Jerald Weintraub
Jerry is the Founder, President, Managing Partner, and Portfolio Manager at Weintraub Capital Management, L.P. (1992 – Present). He is a double-Bear, with both an MBA and B.S. from Berkeley-Haas, and he is on the Haas Board.

Peter Supino
Peter worked at Passport Capital, a San Francisco based hedge fund that managed as much as $5 billion in macro and fundamental equity strategies, from 2008 to 2017. At Passport, Peter’s roles included Analyst, Sector Portfolio Manager, and Director of Research, and he served on the Management and Compensation Committees. Previously, Peter was a Research Analyst at Weitz Investments, a concentrated value fund manager founded in 1984, and held several positions at Allen & Co., a merchant banking firm founded in 1922. Peter graduated from Williams College in 1998 where he majored in History, studied Art History, and quarterbacked 3 Varsity football teams. He lives in San Rafael, CA with his wife Shawna, their three children, and 6 pets.

Martin Engel
Martin is a Managing Partner of Orion Growth Partners LLC, a focused growth equity fund targeting investments in the pet food and treat, pet care services, pet food and treat production and food safety and preservation sectors. Prior to founding Orion, Martin was a founding partner and investment analyst at SailingStone Capital Partners LLC, an investment firm managing concentrated, long-only natural resource equity portfolios. Prior to founding SailingStone, Martin was an investment analyst at RS Investments for the RS Global Natural Resources Strategies. Martin has 19 years of investment experience, both as a public and private equity investor. Martin holds a BS from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Andrew Raab

Andy is a Managing Director of FPR Partners, a private investment partnership focused on public equities. Prior to founding the firm in 2003, Andy held positions with Hellman and Friedman, Bain Capital, and Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette. Andy received an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business after graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Michigan.

David W. Lyon, CFA
David is a Managing Director and Global Investment Specialist at JPMorgan Private Bank. In his role, David is responsible for developing strategic allocations, tactical tilts, and portfolio construction, as well as ongoing risk management across discretionary assets for 30 clients and $7.5B AUM. David also led the West Coast Outsourced Chief Investment Officer practice, where he was responsible for the Multi-Manager platform, as well as the ongoing client advisory services, with emphasis on alternative investment strategies. Prior to joining JPMorgan, David Headed the Institutional and Private Client Manager Research & Due Diligence Team within the Investment Management Services area of Sutro & Co. He was responsible for manager and vehicle selection across traditional and alternative asset classes for institutional clients of the firm. David has been an Investment Committee member of the following foundations: Hanna Boys Center, Dominican Sisters, and St. Mary's Medical Center Foundation. David received his B.A. from University of Arizona and is a CFA Charterholder. In addition, he is a member of the CFA Institute and the San Francisco Analyst Society. David has appeared on CNBC and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, and other publications. He lives with his wife and two children in San Francisco, California.

Jon Stenzler
Jon is a Managing Director at Wolfe Research, a premier equity research boutique, where he is a member of the firm's Executive Committee, oversees recruiting, co-heads the institutional sales department and leads West Coast sales. Prior, Jon spent seven years at EvercoreISI, where he was a Managing Director and ran West Coast sales. Prior to ISI, Jon worked for ten years at Citigroup, and prior to that he was a journalist for The Philadelphia Inquirer. Jon received an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, a Master’s in Journalism from New York University and graduated from Lafayette College with a B.A. in Economics.
