Info session on Blockchain/Crypto research funding under Ripple partnership - Wed 9/19 10:30-11:30am in S480 at Haas
by Finance Club
Registration is now closed (this event already took place).
That partnership includes annual funding over the next five years by Ripple for select research (and to a lesser extent activities) by Berkeley students -- from undergrads through PhD candidates -- including:
Graduate Fellowships for research projects,
Undergraduate Research Projects,
Applied Research/Student Experiential Learning support for applied research, industry projects and other technical projects, and
Student Activities such as competitions, pitch nights, prizes and guest speakers,
All in these subject areas:
○ Blockchain and distributed systems,
○ Cryptocurrency and digital payments, and
○ Cryptography, particularly as it relates to the above topics
Additional, related subject areas, such as blockchain for economic development and global financial inclusion may be included as the initiative evolves.
Laura Tyson, Interim Dean at Haas and Faculty Director of the Institute for Business and Social Impact, would like to meet with you to discuss such research and activities by students. We will also invite students who have already done related research, including whitepapers, on these topics, to share examples of what might be applicable for funding under this program.
Come hear more about this exciting partnership with Ripple, examples of research topics, and how to apply for such funding. You may even meet others with similar research interests with whom you might team up!
If interested, RSVP through the link below and get this on your calendar. But space is limited so RSVP only if you are quite certain that you can attend.
