Join GradFood, Food@Haas, and Net Impact for the Food Solutions Challenge on February 20th at 6:00PM at Haas School of Business in Chou Hall N340/N344.

The Food Solution Challenge is designed to raise awareness and generate solutions on a topic that has a major impact on the food supply and on the climate: food loss. Sixty-four percent of food loss occurs before it even reaches the consumer. You can join whether you already have an idea on how food loss can be tackled or want to learn more about the issue and get the tools to brainstorm solutions with other students.

The evening will start with a short presentation outlining the challenge and case studies around potential solutions. This will be followed by a design sprint hosted by Dr. Kris Madsen who teaches the Eat.Think.Design course and is also a Faculty Director at Berkeley Food Institute.

You will have an opportunity to submit your solutions to Net Impact, and top ideas will be awarded an entry to a paid accelerator in the San Francisco Bay Area to sharpen design thinking skills and refine the solution. All attendees of the event will be entered into a raffle to win iPads, Beats by Dre headphones, and cash! The top incubator team will also receive $5,000!
