For Session 04 of Venture Math, we’re excited to welcome Nnamdi Iregbulem, Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, for a deep dive into Series B & Scaling Product-Market-Fit.
Nnamdi invests in technical enterprise software across developer tools, application infrastructure, and machine learning. Before joining Lightspeed, he deployed $500M+ at ICONIQ Capital into high-growth software companies including GitLab, Fastly, and Alteryx. He’s also a self-taught programmer known for his data-driven writing on software markets.
At Series B, the conversation changes. Having a great team and a compelling story is no longer enough — investors want evidence that product-market fit is real, growth is repeatable, and the economics can scale. And as companies mature, a whole new set of questions enters the room.
Together with host Lorenzo Barberis Canonico, President of Cassandra Labs, we’ll unpack the numbers and decisions behind this transition.
What we’ll cover:
- Growth vs. Efficiency: What do Series B investors prioritize today — and how has that changed since 2021?
- Down & Flat Rounds: What actually happens when the next round isn’t an up round, and what signal does it send?
- Employee Equity Refreshers: When do startups need to refresh employee equity — and how much is enough?
- Secondary Sales: When can founders and employees start taking money off the table, who gets to sell, and at what price?
Whether you’re thinking about founding a company, joining a startup, pursuing VC, or simply want to understand what happens behind the scenes as startups scale, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
