In this highly anticipated session, we will host a fireside chat between the two executives, focusing on the dynamics between a PE sponsor and an investment/asset: alignment, interaction, value creation, leadership, and many other thought-provoking topics. In the second part of this day, Melissa will be interviewed to discuss the investment side of things in detail.
Melissa Dickerson, current CFO & Managing Director of Operations at Genstar, has +20 years of middle-market private equity experience, with over 15 years at Genstar Capital as its CFO. She has led the build-out of Genstar’s operational infrastructure as the firm’s assets under management expanded to $17 billion from $200 million. In June 2019, PitchBook featured Melissa in, “Yes, girls allowed: 5 women thriving in the male-dominated world of PE” as one of the “most powerful” women in private equity. In November 2018, Bold Business named Melissa one of the “Top Ten Women Business Leaders in Private Equity”. In December 2017, Melissa was named one of the 35 “Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A” by Mergers & Acquisitions.
Ryan O'Hara is a seasoned executive with experience leading top-rated real estate, internet, entertainment, sports, and consumer product goods companies, serving as a member of their boards. 4-times CEO and Former CEO of 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, Genstar's portfolio company which was sold to Frontdoor Inc. on December 2024.
