UC Berkeley Haas School of Business | Groups

"Location, Location, Location" is often mentioned as the key to success in real estate ventures. We believe there is no better location than the Haas School of Business for anyone interested in the real estate industry.

The Berkeley Real Estate Club (BREC) is the oldest student club at Haas and, with approximately 100 members drawn from five different UC Berkeley programs, it is also one of the most active and diverse. BREC's objective is to enhance student access to the wealth of resources located within Haas, and within the greater UC Berkeley community, to help students educate themselves about real estate and prepare for successful careers in this dynamic industry.

BREC has a long tradition of helping students to achieve their goals by tapping into the resources of our well-respected faculty, our broad alumni base and the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics. The club organizes an exciting range of property tours and guest speakers throughout the year, as well as social events, industry mixers and two "members-only" firm nights where potential employers come and meet our students.

BREC members also get the chance to test their skills against students from other top business schools through our annual participation in several regional and nationwide real-estate challenges such as the Bank of America Low-Income Housing Challenge, the NAIOP Real Estate Challenge and the UT Austin Real Estate Finance Challenge. Our school has a consistent track record of success in these events.

Real Estate is a core strength of the Haas School of Business. Whether you are a prospective student, an alum or a potential recruiter, BREC and its members have a great deal to offer and we hope you will take the time to learn more about our club.

Welcome to BREC!
