Podcar City: San Jose, Innovating Sustainable Communities

The City of San José, Mineta Transportation Institute and the International Institute for Sustainable Transportation are sponsoring a conference on a new transit technology that blends the convenience of the personal automobile with the environmental benefits of mass transit. Several Podcar, or Personal Rapid Transit, systems have recently been built around the globe and a number of other cities, including several in the U.S. are looking to follow suit. A public program will be offered on Thursday evening, Oct. 28.
