Mission
The Mission of the 1GLI (First Gen Low-Income) club at Haas is to promote, retain, and empower 1GLI students across Berkeley Haas’s ecosystem to increase visibility, build community, and share experiences that will empower our students to have a sense of belonging.

Membership Benefits
We define first-generation graduate students as those whose parents or guardians attained less than a bachelor’s degree. Similarly, graduate students who grew up in low-income households, underserved, and under-resourced backgrounds—whether in the U.S. or abroad—are considered traditionally "low-income." However, we recognize that the first-generation low-income identity is complex and may also include students who:

- Have one parent or guardian who attended college and one who did not
- Have parents who attended university in another country but had to navigate the American higher education system on their own
- Have parents with some college education but who did not graduate
- Did not grow up low-income but are first-generation college students
- Are not first-generation but were raised in a low-income household

While this definition may not encompass every experience, we invite you to join our community if you identify with these experiences and could benefit from fellowship with others, or if you wish to be an ally.

The Association for the Latinx MBA Advancement (ALMA) is dedicated to promoting the experience of US Latinx students at Haas by building a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment.

In 2018, ALMA formed as a bridge to Latin American & Hispanic Business Association (LAHBA) focused on creating a community for the unique experiences of US Latinx students. ALMA is dedicated to promoting the experience of US Latinx students at Haas by building a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment. Our programming is centered on supporting a strong pipeline of underrepresented Latinx students into business education; cultivating community and celebrating our cultures at Berkeley Haas; and providing professional resources and opportunities to support the next generation of US Latinx leaders.

The mission of the Haas Christian Fellowship (HCF) is to create a community for Christians at Berkeley Haas to grow in their faith and explore their vocation while providing an open forum for everyone to dialogue and learn about the message of Jesus Christ.

NA&IBA is a community of business students that seeks to promote the success of Native American & Indigenous students, create awareness around Native issues, and foster a positive culture of unity, cooperation, and respect.

Q@Haas serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQIA+) MBA community, including partners and allies, at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Q@Haas has four main goals to help accomplish this mission:

1. To build and support lasting connections between and among Haas' LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

2. To enhance the professional and personal development of LGBT students at Haas.

3. To increase LGBT representation and visibility within the larger Haas community, ensuring Haas remains an open and inclusive environment.

4. To build awareness around issues of LGBTQ+ representation, equity, inclusion and belonging both at school and in the workplace.

Our mission is to foster relationships amongst individuals in the Haas MBA community interested in South Asia, through social, cultural and professional events. We strive to unite the entire South Asian region across borders - from India, to Kazakhstan, to Sri Lanka and everywhere in between and beyond.

SABA is open to all Haas MBA students and partners.
