About HaasID
HaasID works across four key areas: education, career, community, and hands-on practice.
Through events and social gatherings, we bring the design and business communities together, fostering new ways of thinking and problem solving. Our flagship Speaker Series brings thought leaders to campus who have experience in design consulting, internal innovation, UX/UI, entrepreneurship, futurism, organizational design, real estate development, and more.
HaasID is also a primary resource for students pursuing a career in design and innovation, and those looking to apply the design skillset and mindset to their current industries. We have hosted career panels and treks to firms such as IDEO and frog, and have meaningful connections with alumni in the industry.
More broadly, HaasID aims to promote a culture of community and thought leadership. We host casual conversations about design and build connections with other graduate programs across the Berkeley campus.
Experiential learning and workshops are a cornerstone of our club’s activities. Each fall, HaasID hosts the Innovation Challenge, bringing together students, designers, and business professionals for a day-long competition. Through hands-on creative workshops, student and professional teams work together to solve a pressing business challenge. This kicks off our year, and is complemented by a suite of other experiences like “Designing your MBA experience” and workshops carefully crafted in collaboration with other Haas clubs.
