We are excited to announce, the conference will be back in person at the South San Francisco Conference Center on March 10th, 2023. This year's theme: "A New Foundation: Building the Future of Healthcare" will examine the lessons learned over the past few years after COVID-19 brought disruption to the healthcare system as we knew it. We will explore the systems and norms that provide value in today’s climate and ways in which we might reimagine elements to provide greater benefits and improved patient care.

Haas Healthcare Startup Pitch Competition is returning on Thursday March 9th, 2023! We invite Cal students, alumni, and faculty to come watch cutting-edge digital health startups pitch their innovations to a panel of VC judges.
We invite bay area founders working on heathcare problems to pitch their innovations to a panel of VC judges. The pitch competition is the capstone event of the first day of the Haas Healthcare Conference, and we are expecting 100+ audience members.Our judges this year include:

ChatGPT and Healthcare
ChatGPT, the generative AI chatbot from OpenAI has taken the digital world by storm. Since its launch in late November, ChatGPT has accomplished impressive feats—passing graduate-level exams for business, law and medical school (the answers to which can’t simply be Googled). Read about the performance of ChatGPT on USMLE in this recent publication in PLoS Digital Health here.
The next version, ChatGPT4, is scheduled for release later this year, as is Google’s rival AI product. And, last week, Microsoft unveiled an AI-powered search engine and web browser in partnership with OpenAI. A recent Forbes article lists how Generative AI tools will transform healthcare as we know it.
