At Haas, excellence in teaching and inclusive learning is recognized through the annual Earl F. Cheit Award. This award is named after Dean Emeritus Earl F. Cheit, who made teaching excellence as one of his top priorities as dean.
This award is presented to three outstanding individuals:
- An Evening instructor
- A Weekend instructor
- A Graduate Student Instructor (GSI)

Social Impact
Social impact is more important now than it has ever been.
Through programs such as the Impact CFO and Berkeley Board Fellows and classes such as Business Models of Social Impact, Haas is at the forefront of cultivating socially impactful business leaders. To sustain Haas’s success in social impact well into the future, the EWMBAA and Center for Social Sector Leadership (CSSL) are asking for your input.
By taking only 7-10 minutes to complete this survey, you would help drive the EWMBAA’s and CSSL’s work toward building and tailoring programming and coursework to the interests of current and future students. The survey will be open until the middle of April, but the sooner you complete it, the better. In case you missed it above, the short survey is linked here.
