What a year! We had trips, buses, kitchen cookoffs, boisterous dinners, and intimate cooking lessons. We've talked with some really cool leaders in the food business world. And we ate a hell of a lot of dim sum.
We've had an incredible time leading this club -- thank you for being such awesome members. This club continues to be special because of all of you -- your willingness to both create and enthusiastically participate in events guarantees awesomeness.
We are so excited about this next group that's coming in to lead the club. We can't wait to see what you guys do! (And we promise to show up at your events hungry).

**New** The Wonderful Company - MBA Internship in Corporate Strategy FMI: See attachment with job description, or CareerNet for the posting
Shared by Haas Alum, Ilia Florentin:
I want to introduce our corporate strategy group at The Wonderful Company. You may be familiar with some of our brands: FIJI Water, Wonderful Pistachios, POM Wonderful, Teleflora, Wonderful Halos Mandarins, and Justin Wines. What you may not know is we’re all owned by one private $4B company, located in sunny Los Angeles.
Why join us?Our summer internship is a great opportunity for anyone looking to consume lots of pistachios and FIJI Water learn about consumer goods, agribusiness and management consulting, without all the travel and consulting hours. We have a team of 25 consultants in our own “in-house” strategy consulting firm to collaborate with on challenging business problems, such as M&A, international expansion, plant operations effectiveness, product development and much more.
Summer interns get the opportunity to own their own project and work directly with senior leadership of our business units. We have a strong track record of making full time offers to summer interns. In addition, our group acts as a talent pipeline feeding into leadership positions in our operating companies, usually within 1-3 years of joining the group.

From BFI: Wins and Losses for Statewide Food and Agriculture Bills
The California Food Policy Council (CAFPC)—a collaboration of non-profits and local food policy councils across the state—released their 2016 California Food and Agriculture Legislation Tracker, which identifies and analyzes the outcome of 15 priority state-level bills from the 2016 legislative session. Six of the bills supported by CAFPC have been passed, including AB 1577, which expands a state tax credit to most agricultural producers on food donated to food banks. Other bills that passed include AB 1810, which protects small-scale seed saving and swapping, and AB 1066, which will extend overtime pay after 40 hours of work per week to farmworkers by 2022. Meanwhile, the remaining nine bills selected by CAFPC did not pass, including AB 2782, which would have established a health impact fee on sugar-sweetened beverage distributors to go toward nutrition programs, and SB 1282, which would have required labeling for nursery plants and seeds treated with neonicotinoid pesticides. View the full scorecard here.
