City/Cité: Translating Cities and Cultures
"In the midst of the COVID-19 public health crisis and the Black Lives Matter Movement, social issues are exacerbated. Already engaged in the transformation of their cities, a group of artists, urban planners, entrepreneurs, elected officials and researchers embarked on a journey to examine the process of city-making in France and California. The Oakland/Saint-Denis project was born under a common conviction: our cities must be built collectively and with the arts and humanities at the center.

Join us as we learn from three US cities – Oakland, Chicago, Detroit – as they develop innovative models for city-building."

"The SEAM Conference is a one-day annual, interactive conference produced by students of the Design Leadership program at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School & The Maryland Institute College of Art.

This year's theme of uncertainty will explore how thoughtful design and innovative business strategy have helped us understand our experiences over the past year. The conference's sessions will explore how the uncertainty that we have faced has informed our interactions and experiences digitally, physically, and systemically."
