Edible Education 101 Course

Edible Education 101 is a two-unit weekly lecture series that brings renown experts—leading academics and practitioners--- to campus to share their visions, research and experiences about food and its critical role in our culture, well-being and survival. Past guest experts have included Michael Pollan, Carlo Petrini, Raj Patel, Marion Nestle, and Dan Barber. Students are required to complete assigned readings, attend all lectures, and write two papers. The course is open to undergraduate and graduate students from all schools at the University.

The Berkeley Food Institute, School of Public Health, and Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley are pleased to announce the launch of a new Graduate Certificate in Food Systems. The certificate responds to an escalating need to empower new leaders with the capacity to create innovative solutions to pressing food and agriculture challenges. Building on UC Berkeley’s strength as a multi-disciplinary pioneer in food systems studies, the Certificate in Food Systems prepares Masters and Doctoral students to think critically about the multi-level, multi-system factors that affect food production, distribution, and consumption locally, nationally, and globally. 



Rabobank-MIT Food and Agribusiness Innovation Prize Competition

The Rabobank-MIT Food & Agribusiness Innovation Prize, sponsored by Rabobank and supported by MIT J-WAFS and the MIT Food and Agriculture Club, is a premier business-plan competition for university and graduate students. The competition takes place in two stages: teams will submit their first round applications by late December, from which finalists will be selected to pitch their business plans at a final event in Spring 2019 and compete for a total of $30,000 in prize money.

Survey for Project MAPS (Mental Health Awareness and Perceptions)

Project MAPS explores the perceptions of mental health, help seeking, and anxiety. Participants who complete this survey will have the chance to win a $50 gift card. Most individuals are able to complete the survey in approximately 10-20 minutes.
