Assign Roles

At the beginning of the session, decide amongst yourselves who will start as the interviewer and who will be the interviewee.

The person chosen as the interviewer should already have a question prepared to pose to the interviewee.

Interview Simulation

Begin the session with the interviewer presenting the question.

The interviewee will approach the question as if it's a real interview scenario. They should think aloud, clarify doubts, and propose solutions.

The interviewer should guide, ask probing questions, and help direct the interviewee just as they would in a genuine interview setup.

Feedback Session

Once the solution is presented or the 25 minutes are up, the interviewer starts by sharing feedback. Highlight what the interviewee did well and areas that need improvement.

The interviewee then reflects on their performance, sharing what they felt went well and what they would do differently.

Reverse your roles

At the 30-minute mark, switch roles.

The new interviewer should come with a different question to ensure a fresh interview experience.

Tips for a Productive Session

Come Prepared

If you’re the interviewer, have a question ready. If you’re the interviewee, come in a mindset ready to solve.

Constructive Feedback

Focus on providing actionable feedback that the interviewee can use to improve.

Active Listening

As the interviewee, listen keenly to the interviewer's hints and guidance.

Time Management

Keep an eye on the clock to ensure you stick to the given time limits.
