The Food Summit is an opportunity for MBAs to learn about the latest trends / innovations in the food industry. The specific focus is on providing exposure to career opportunities for MBAs - both for internships (summer and otherwise) and for full-time roles. Speakers include: Clara Foods CEO Arturo Elizondo, VP of Operations at Good Eggs, the Farmer’s Business Network, FoodLogiQ , SweetGreen, and Greenhouse Capital. In addition, we will have a panel on sustainability / transparency in food supply chains and, finally, we will an have opportunity for informal networking, small group chats with Haas alumni working in the food space. *NOTE* The first Food@Haas members that arrive at the Food Summit will receive some brand new Food@Haas swag while supplies last.

This talk provides an overview of the current problems posed by
industrialized animal agriculture, and how cell- and plant-based meat companies are solving these issues while building profitable, transformative companies. Business students are presented with one of the most exciting opportunities for building a career that makes a true impact.
Students will come away with an understanding of the resources GFI has available to those interested in the space. These resources include industry and investor connections, market research, and professional support such as legal, scientific, marketing, and more.

One of Food@Haas’ most popular traditions, Crowdsourced Cooking Classes, is back! We are currently looking for volunteers to host these cooking classes. As a host, you get the unique chance to show-off your cooking skills, teach your classmates a dish, and enjoy a fantastic meal in an intimate setting. Food@Haas will reimburse you for ingredients!
Last year – lessons ranged from Mapo Tofu, to Paneer Tikka Masala; from Brazilian BBQ to Vegetarian Pasta! Please fill out this form by October 26th! We will follow up with you individually to finalize details.
Transforming the Food Industry Speaker Series

Transforming the Food Industry Speaker Series will explore how companies are re-framing the way we think about food by questioning the status quo. Berkeley, an emergency shelter program in Berkeley providing low-barrier access for youth experiencing homelessness (and contribute to your cohort's C4C points in November). Yeah! provides shelter for about 35 youth every night and provide basic necessities, offer case management and counseling, linkages to education, employment and housing, and opportunities for meaningful community involvement.

Edible Education 101 is a two-unit weekly lecture series that brings renown experts—leading academics and practitioners--- to campus to share their visions, research and experiences about food and its critical role in our culture, well-being and survival. Past guest experts have included Michael Pollan, Carlo Petrini, Raj Patel, Marion Nestle, and Dan Barber. Students are required to complete assigned readings, attend all lectures, and write two papers. The course is open to undergraduate and graduate students from all schools at the University.
