NEW: The Bean Queens Sauce Sale

2nd year entrepreneurs Amanda Eller and Sarah Yates (aka The Bean Queens) are selling jars of sauce (Lentil Bolognese and Creamy Butternut Squash with Chickpeas) for delivery on Tuesday. NEW: US Food Waste Summit
Date / Time: Tuesday & Wednesday, June 26-27, 2018
Location: Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA

Event Registration

The Summit will convene leading food businesses, policymakers, innovators, investors, foundations, and nonprofits to explore emerging opportunities for food waste prevention, recovery, and recycling. Attendees will learn about the latest food waste trends and insights, network and build partnerships with thought leaders and decision-makers from across sectors, and join multistakeholder working groups to advance new solutions. The position will evaluate market trends and customer
requirements to deliver product solutions in collaboration with our development team. The ideal candidate will have a background in sales, marketing, and/or account management in the agriculture industry (seeds, crop protection, nutrition, or related), have experience developing business plans and value proposition messaging, and have fluency with financial modeling and analysis. The position will be based in Emeryville, California, and report to the executive team.

Making chips from up-cycled Sunflower oilcake, Planetarians, shows that repurposing oilcakes (dry matter left after oil extraction from seeds) from an animal into the human food can feed 1.5B extra people without growing extra crops. InFEWS Fellows will master the interdisciplinary skills needed to create actionable and impactful research that is transferable from the lab to the field at scale and to ultimately make real lives better. Select admitted Fellows receive tuition, fees, and a stipend of $34,000 for one year; all Fellows benefit from a community of like-minded researchers, interdisciplinary classes, activities, and receive travel support for field work and topical internships.

Food Stories by Haasies:

My mom opened the first Chinese restaurant in my hometown of Fargo, ND, and the restaurant was a way to share Chinese food with a community that didn't have a large Chinese population. I've since seen food as an amazing way to bring together people to explore different cultures.
