To create a community for UC Berkeley graduate students to learn about digital media and entertainment, engage with the industry, and develop knowledge and relevant skills.
We do this by facilitating:
-
Alumni Events
From social mixers to alumni speakers, DMEC provides students an opportunity to network and learn from Cal alumni working at the most creative and influential companies in the digital media and entertainment industries.
DMEC Speaker Series
Each fall, DMEC organizes thought-provoking speakers from top companies and prominent brands in digital media and entertainment. Past speakers have included representatives from Facebook, Apple, Electronic Arts, Google, Zynga, Pixar, Mozilla, LucasArts, and more.
Career Treks
Treks offer students the chance to meet with executives and recruiters while going "behind the scenes" at leading companies. Some treks offer 'resume books' for the hosting company to support recruiting pipelines with driven Haas MBA candidates. Past treks have taken club members to Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and Silicon Valley to visit offices including Twitter, Google, Eventbrite, Zynga, Pinterest, Pandora, Hulu, Electronic Arts, Pocket Gems and more!
If you represent a company in the digital media and entertainment space and would like to bring a delegation of students to your company, we'd love to hear from you.
DMEC Newsletter
Which companies are hiring? What are alumni up to these days? The digital media and entertainment field is dynamic and ever-changing. DMEC helps members navigate the field by providing updates on conferences, upcoming and recent events, job postings and more. Club members receive curated regular updates to support their professional and personal industry pursuits.
Interview Prep
The DMEC club facilitates structured career exploration through peer-to-peer engagement during the Fall semester and into early spring. Join regular peer discussions and debates to stay up to speed on industry topics that may come up during interviews. Mock interview using the club's repository of real interview questions and stay accountable to your career search through a peer support group.
